On one weekend in the year, there is an even greater focus than ever on fashion, design, jewelry and furniture in the popular Kreis 3, 4 and 5 quarters.
Every year since 2008, around 80 stores from Zurich’s trendy Kreis 3, 4 and 5 quarters open their doors for a whole weekend as part of “Kreislauf 345”. During this event, they provide interested guests and curious visitors with an insight into their stores, ateliers, offices and galleries. The two urban quarters, which run along the left and right sides of Langstrasse, are popular among trendsetters from all over the world, and are even considered to be a shopper’s insider tip.
In recent years, many artists, architects, creatives, fashion designers and innovative gastronomes have settled in the city’s former red light district, which in earlier days served as a place of refuge for poor families that had moved here. This has given rise to a fascinating mix of old and new, creative design and demolition, exotic and traditional, and history and modernity, which is reflected in the stores and culinary establishments in the two districts.
